Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

The 2023 Martinet Bru couldn't hide the exuberance of the year, the ripeness and concentration of the small and scarce grapes the vines were able to deliver. There was only four days of contact with the skins, and part of the wine fermented with carbonic maceration. But there's an excess of natural concentration in 2022 and 2023 that had to be managed. The grapes come from three vineyards, worked mostly in concrete and the last three months in barrel. The result is a lighter expression of Priorat but still Priorat, with concentration but with a tension in the finish that lifts up the wine.

Features

Description

Martinet Bru is a red wine produced by the Más Martinet Viticultors winery with the Garnacha and Syrah varieties from the Priorat DO.
The grapes used in this wine come from the Mas Torrent estate, located in the Masos de Falset area and owned by the winery. This estate is distinguished by its fresh, stony, slate soils.

Winemaking

The Garnacha and Syrah grapes are harvested by hand. Fermentation is carried out in wooden vats together with the lees and with very gentle and brief washings. These processes are carried out during alcoholic fermentation.
The Martinet Bru red wine is aged for 18 months in 4,000-litre vats (66% of the total capacity ) and in new or semi-new 300-litre French oak barrels. The wine is bottled without any kind of fining.

Taste

Martinet Bru is a red wine with fruity aromas. In the mouth it is fresh and structured, silky, with volume and some mineral notes. It has fleshy, polished and well-balanced tannins.

A deep and complex wine.

Martinet Bru is an absolute benchmark in Priorat, a wine faithful to its terroir, which immediately transports us to the landscape from which its grapes come.
In the gastronomic field, this wine is especially recommended for business lunches or dinners with friends and as an accompaniment to cured cheeses, roast lamb, grilled lamb, cold meats, red meats with sauce, pasta with meat sauce, grilled red meats, big game and stews.
And you, have you already tried this magnificent wine? Tell us what you think!
