Description
Lousas Parcela Seoane is an authentic expression of the Ribeira Sacra, Galicia, Spain. This wine is a creation of Envínate, a project born from the collaboration of four friends: Laura Ramos, Jose Martínez, Roberto Santana and Alfonso Torrente. They focus on exploring the ancient Atlantic terroirs of Ribeira Sacra and the Canary Islands, as well as exceptional parcels on the Iberian Peninsula.
The wine is composed mainly of Mencía (90%), complemented with other indigenous varieties such as Brancellao, Merenzao, Garnacha Tintorera, among others. It comes from the Seoane plot, which consists of two adjacent plots with 80 to 100 year old vines, planted in fine gneiss and schist with a quartz vein. These plots are the first to be harvested each year, ripening almost a month earlier than the Camiño Novo site.
Winemaking
In terms of winemaking, the grapes were harvested by hand and fermented whole bunch in open fermenters, with no temperature control. Maceration lasted 40 days before pressing with a vertical press. The wine then rested for a year in three used French oak barrels (one 500L, one 400L and one 228L) before bottling.
Taste
Lousas Parcela Seoane stands out for its spicy notes and aromas of red fruits such as strawberry and red currant. It has very silky and delicate tannins, with lovely fresh fruit and a lingering finish. This wine is suitable for vegans and vegetarians, underlining its focus on sustainability and respect for nature.
