Laurent Bénard Le Parc 1er Cru 2020
£62.73 (Inc. VAT bot. 75 cl.) / North Ireland
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Disgorged in December 2024 without dosage, the 2020 Blanc de Noirs Le Parc, a pure Pinot Meunier cuvée from a low-lying, southeast-facing plot in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ—formerly the site of a park—soars from the glass with aromas of red apple, fresh-baked bread and spice, interwoven with white blossoms. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, ample and textural, with a pillowy mousse and sweetly fruited, framed by chalky extract. The wine concludes with a long, aromatic finish, though it leaves one yearning for greater complexity. Vinification took place in 500-liter barrels.
