Izadi Larrosa Negra 2022
£10.58 (Inc. VAT bot. 75 cl.) / North Ireland
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The red 2022 Larrosa Negra is their Garnacha from Tudelilla from vines planted in 1975 on very stony soils. It matured in older barrels to avoid the impact of the wood in the sensitive variety. They used some full clusters in the fermentation, and the élevage was shorter than in previous years, some six months. It has ripeness, reflecting the warm year, with 14.5% alcohol and integrated and balancing acidity. It has a creamy and spicy nose with notes of red berries and flowers, a juicy palate with very fine tannins and a spicy and smoky finish that is less opulent despite the year. It opens up to a fresher expression and more varietal profile with less creaminess. 48,274 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2024.
