Description
Giovanni Rosso Barolo Serra is a wine that perfectly reflects the character of its terroir in Serralunga d'Alba, where the Serra, Cerretta and Broglio vineyards are located. In this case, the Serra vineyard has an east-southeast exposure and is composed of vines planted in 1984, 1996 and 2003.
Winemaking
Made from Nebbiolo grapes, it is fermented for 28 days on the skins and aged in French oak vats for between 18 and 36 months, depending on the vintage. This wine, produced under the direction of Davide Rosso since 2001, is a serious, austere and elegant red wine.
Taste
In terms of sensory profile, Giovanni Rosso Barolo Serra stands out for its structure and power. On the nose, aromas of blackberries, violets, wet earth and coffee beans are perceived. On the palate, it is characterised by an excellent relationship between acidity, alcohol and body, which gives it a remarkable sapidity. The tannins are strong but elegant, providing a long persistence. It is a wine that offers a deep and balanced experience, ideal to accompany meats such as lamb, braised veal or game dishes.
