The 2019 Cotes du Roussillon Les Aspres Lea is a blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 20% Carignan, barrel-fermented and aged in new 500-liter oak puncheons. There are some tarry, green-peppercorn notes from the Carignan, licorice from the Syrah and fleshy black cherries from the Grenache—the oak is a minor, background component. Full-bodied, silky and easy to drink, it's another quality-price ratio winner from Famille Lafage.
