Description
Corriente wine is a tribute to a traditional unofficial qualification of the Rioja Alavesa region, inspired by 20th century viticulture. This red wine is made from Tempranillo, Graciano and Garnacha grapes from vineyards in Lanciego de Álava and Viñaspre.
Winemaking
The wine is made with indigenous yeasts in barrels and casks of different ages, aged for 10 to 12 months. The vineyards, located between 480 and 650 metres above sea level, are on clay-limestone and sandstone soils of low fertility. The continental climate with Mediterranean influences and a manual harvest complete the production process of this balanced wine without artifice.
Taste
Corriente has an intense cherry red colour with a dense tear. On the nose, aromas of ripe fruit, dried herbs, and a hint of coffee, along with spicy notes of clove and black pepper. On the palate, it is very fruity, unctuous, but with a long finish, highlighting vanilla notes. It is a balanced and persistent wine, ideal to accompany tapas, rice dishes with meat and barbecues. Its fresh and light character, together with the combination of fruits and spices, makes it perfect to enjoy on any occasion, maintaining an excellent quality-price ratio.
