The bright yellow 2023 Casta Diva Cosecha Dorada has changed, as it contains 20% Merseguera complementing the Moscatel (and in 2024 will be 50/50), which seems to have tamed down the aromatics, giving it a more herbal side with the core of white flowers, orange blossom and a minty touch. It has a dry and chalky palate and is very apt for the table, versatile, with a bitter twist in the finish. They also changed the élevage, introducing some 500-liter barrels (not only stainless steel, this year 50/50), which seems to also give it more depth and volume. It has 13.5% alcohol, a pH of 3.35 and 6.88 grams of acidity, coming through as powerful but fresh and balanced. It feels like a step up in complexity, character and depth. 12,500 bottles produced. It was bottled in August 2024.

Description
Casta Diva Cosecha Dorada is a white wine made from 90% Muscat of Alexandria and 10% Merseguera by Bodegas Gutiérrez de la Vega.
The grapes used to make this wine come from vines with an average life span of 40 years. The vineyards have been planted on soils composed of ferruginous clay with pebbles at an altitude of 250 metres above sea level in the Jalón Valley.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand at their crisp, fresh point of ripeness. On arrival at the winery, they are destemmed and crushed, then left to macerate with their skins for two days.
They are then pressed and fermented with indigenous yeasts for 15 days in a stainless steel tank.
Finally, the wine is aged on its fine lees for 5 months in stainless steel tanks and lightly filtered before being bottled and sold.
Taste
Casta Diva Cosecha Dorada has floral aromas with a herbal touch, citrus notes and hints of aniseed on a slightly musky background.
The palate is fresh from start to finish, culminating in a classic, pleasantly bitter finish, with subtle varietal notes, very floral and fresh - splendid!

Casta Diva Cosecha Dorada is a white wine made by the Gutiérrez de la Vega winery with the Moscatel de Alejandría grape originally used in the area in sweet fortified wines or as a sultana.
In the gastronomic field this wine is perfect as an aperitif and is ideal to accompany dishes with floral character and especially for dishes with saffron, rice or noodles.
