Description
Bonnet Cotton Fleurie Poncié is a red wine produced by the Bonnet Cotton winery, a historic house located in the Beaujolais region of France. It is made exclusively from Gamay Noir grapes coming from old vines of approximately 50 years old, planted on pink granite soils.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand, which guarantees a careful selection of the grapes. Vinification includes carbonic maceration with whole bunches and spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged for 9 months in large vats, without fining or filtration. Moreover, it is a wine that follows the principles of organic agriculture.
Taste
Bonnet Cotton Fleurie Poncié stands out for its elegance and purity. On the nose, it offers floral and fresh fruit aromas, such as violets, roses and red fruits. On the palate, it is fluid and light, but with a dense structure that fills the palate. Flavours of raspberry, strawberry and blueberry predominate, complemented by more subtle notes of blood orange and delicate spice. A mineral touch of graphite and good acidity add freshness and balance, making this wine an ideal choice for the warmer months of the year.
