Description
Anna Codorníu Brut Rosé was born from the desire to create a Cava that combines glamour, freshness and tradition. Since 1984, this label has paid homage to Anna, the last heiress of the Codorníu lineage whose name was not lost thanks to a history of character and intelligence. The spirit of this rosé Cava -feminine, vibrant and elegant- reflects this heritage. Codorníu, pioneer in the use of Chardonnay in the Cava D.O., was also one of the first to dare to use Pinot Noir as a base for high quality rosé sparkling wines. The vineyard grows in the most continental climate zone of the appellation, in Lleida, where the day-night temperature oscillation intensifies the aromatic expression of the grapes and ensures slow ripening, ideal for fresh, lively and expressive wines.
Winemaking
The blend that gives rise to Anna Codorníu Brut Rosé -70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay- is designed to balance fruit intensity with elegance and acidity. Each variety is vinified separately: the Pinot Noir undergoes a short maceration with its skins to achieve a subtle colour and a clean aromatic charge. Both are then fermented in stainless steel at low temperature. After blending, the second fermentation begins in the bottle, using the traditional method. The wine spends at least 12 months on the lees, refining bubbles, texture and complexity.
Taste
To the eye, Anna Codorníu Brut Rosé is a soft cherry pink, with fine, constant bubbles. The nose is dominated by fresh red fruits - strawberry, raspberry, cherry - with notes of green apple, pink grapefruit and a light floral background. The palate is vibrant, clean, with a refreshing acidity that lengthens the drink, without losing roundness or volume thanks to the Chardonnay. The palate is creamy, subtly citric, with a mineral touch that adds depth. The finish is dry, elegant, with a persistent echo of acidic fruits and fine bakery notes.
Anna Codorníu Brut Rosé is a gastronomic rosé, refined and versatile, perfect for Mediterranean dishes, pasta, rice dishes or blue fish. Sophisticated without excesses, festive without stridency. Anna always arrives in style.
