Fermented with indigenous yeasts. Aged for 6 months in old French oak barrels.
Alfredo Maestro A dos Tiempos is a unique red wine made from Garnacha and Tempranillo grapes by the Alfredo Maestro winery in Peñafiel, Valladolid, under the Castilla y León appellation.
Two harvests are carried out at two different times, up to three weeks apart, by hand. The grapes are destemmed and crushed immediately after harvesting. Maceration is then carried out for up to 25 days. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out in a 1000 litre stainless steel tank with daily pumping over with the vineyard's own indigenous yeasts without any corrections or additions.
Malolactic fermentation is also carried out in stainless steel tanks for approximately 20-30 days. The wine is aged for 6 months in second year French oak barrels.
Before bottling, both wines obtained from the two harvests are blended in an attempt to achieve freshness and ripeness of fruit and tannins.
Alfredo Maestro A dos Tiempos is a red wine with a complex nose, spicy touches and balsamic notes. In the mouth it is powerful, tasty, toasted, with fixed tannins, good acidity, light and pleasant.
A powerful and structured red wine.
Alfredo Maestro A dos Tiempos is a name that refers to the harvest carried out in two stages; the first one, early, a few days after veraison, and the second one, well into September, with a little interventionist elaboration.
In the gastronomic field, this is a perfect red wine for business lunches and can perfectly accompany red meat dishes.
You are about to taste one of the wines that shows a freshness rarely seen in red wines from this part of the world. Are you ready?
