Pure fermented grape juice. That is the secret of Celler Tomàs Torres' natural wine made by winemaker Vincents, in the Vall d'Albaida region of Valencia. Twenty years ago he started making wine with his family for their own consumption. It was so well received by his close circle that it motivated them to start producing it for sale.
Celler Tomàs Torres vineyards
At present, Celler Tomàs Torres has five hectares of vineyards in the Vall d'Albaida region in Valencia. While some of them are of their own plantation, others are old vineyards with autochthonous varieties that were going to be uprooted for their transformation.
The soil in this region is white, deep and fresh, which makes it very favourable for the cultivation of vines. The vineyards are worked organically, following the principles of biodynamics and all the grapes are harvested by hand.
No chemicals such as pesticides or insecticides are used, only organic fertiliser provided by the local donkeys. Only products approved by organic agriculture are used to prevent fungus.
Wines of Celler Tomàs Torres
The wines of Celler Tomàs Torres are natural wines, made with wild yeasts, which act freely to give life to the wine. They have no chemicals or additives, nothing is added or removed, which is why their wines can be defined as "pure fermented grape juice".
Bottling is done by hand, which means that devatting, pressing, racking, bottling, corking, labelling, etc. are all done by hand.
Among the most outstanding wines of Celler Tomàs Torres are Terricola, Terricola Tinto, Al Tall Negre and Al Tall Blanc.
