Description
Pheasant's Tears Rkatsiteli is a wine from the Kakheti region in eastern Georgia. This wine is made from Rkatsiteli grapes from 30-year-old vineyards. Fermentation takes place naturally for 30 days with wild yeasts in Georgian clay qvevri buried underground. The wine is not filtered or fined, and only a touch of sulphur is added at bottling. Its appearance is golden amber in the glass, with an aroma of wild honey. Despite its aroma, it is dry and, surprisingly, full-bodied.
Taste
Pheasant's Tears Rkatsiteli exhibits a nice coppery amber hue, with signs of evolution. Medium-bodied with some intensity, it delivers liquorice notes that evoke hints of fruit, tangerine, apricot, orange peel, orange blossom, dried apricots, honey, and a palpable acidity that lingers in the aftertaste.
