The 2020 O Estranxeiro is a Mencía from A Cova on the banks of the Miño and Doade in Amandi (Sil River) on granite soils with schist and slate veins. It fermented in open-top concrete and chestnut vats and matured in oak foudres and concrete for seven months. It's light and has moderate ripeness at 12.5% with mellow acidity (5.58 grams) and a pH of 3.51. It's juicy and fruit-driven, with moderate freshness and a soft texture. 15,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2021.
