Mario Rovira La Farruca 2021
£29.62 (Inc. VAT bot. 75 cl.) / North Ireland
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The pure Macabeo white 2018 La Farruca is only 10.5% alcohol and is extremely pale, almost transparent, with a subtle and elegant nose. It is from 35-year-old vines planted on granite soils that have some streaks of slate and quartz. The wine matured in well-seasoned Manzanilla casks that were used for his Tosca Cerrada wines from Jerez. It's tasty and fresh, mineral and austere, very clean and elegant, with faint spices and a salty finish. A mineral Mediterranean white. Only 400 bottles produced.
