Description
In the far north of Navarre, where the cold winds from the Pyrenees descend on the vineyards every afternoon, Artazuri Garnacha Rosado is born. It is a wine that reflects the vision of the Artazu winery: to make a rosé with soul, freshness and character, far from the sweet standards of the market. Since 1998, they have been growing Garnacha in poor calcareous soils, applying organic farming practices and rejecting the use of herbicides or pesticides. Their respect for the environment is absolute, and their commitment to authenticity is embodied in every winemaking decision.
The location of the vineyards allows for slow and balanced ripening. The cool climate of the north of Navarre preserves the natural acidity and prolongs the phenolic phase, achieving a vibrant, ripe and at the same time tense Garnacha. The decision to ferment the free-run juice exclusively with indigenous yeasts was a courageous decision that marked the clean, pure and direct style of this wine.
Winemaking
Artazuri Garnacha Rosado is harvested by hand, with a meticulous selection of clusters and berries. Only the must that flows without pressing is used: the finest, most delicate and expressive. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, spontaneously and without oenological intervention. There is no oak or aromatic manipulation: everything is built from the fruit and the terroir.
Taste
Artazuri Garnacha Rosé is a wine of precise lines and sharp profile. On the nose it displays aromas of wild raspberries, grapefruit peel, dried petals and a subtle note of wet stone. The palate is fresh and nervous, with a lively acidity that lengthens the length. It is not a sweet-toothed rosé, but dry, elegant, with a slightly bitter finish reminiscent of rhubarb or white tea. A wine that breathes landscape, ideal for those who are looking for a serious, honest rosé with mineral tension.
