Description
AT Roca Rosat Reserva Brut Nature is a reinterpretation of sparkling rosé wines through the traditional Mediterranean varieties of the area planted on calcareous soils. This wine belongs to the Clàssic Penedès category and is made using the traditional method.
The viticulture behind this wine is organic and regenerative, following the principles of traditional Mediterranean dry-farmed viticulture. The Macabeu comes from 14 plots located in the area of Sant Sebastià dels Gorgs (Costers d'Ordal) planted between 220 and 340 metres above sea level on limestone and gravel soils. On the other hand, the red Garnacha comes from 4 plots in the same region, planted at the same altitude, but on calcareous, clay and gravel soils.
Winemaking
After the first alcoholic fermentation, the base wine is bottled together with yeast and sugar for a second fermentation in the bottle. This bottle ageing lasts between 24 and 36 months. Finally it is bottled without expedition liqueur.
Taste
AT Roca Rosat Reserva Brut Nature is clean and bright with a subtle pale pink colour. On the nose, it is clean, frank and elegant, dominated by aromas of reineta apple on a background of red fruits, especially strawberry and raspberries. On the palate, it is fruity, fresh and mineral, with a creamy and well combined carbonic. Overall, it is a lively, balanced, round and elegant wine.
