Mario Rovira La Milonga 2019

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
An intriguing, extremely pale red (some would call it a rosé), possibly the palest Syrah I've had, the 2018 La Milonga is almost a very drinkable blanc de noirs inspired by some wines from Languedoc. The grapes were harvested very early and matured in a ceramic egg after fermenting with indigenous yeasts. It has notes of red berries and Mediterranean herbs, and it's not really varietal but is light and fresh, with 11.5% alcohol, refreshing and easy to drink. I cannot make up my mind to whether this feels more like a rosé or a red, but it's very pleasant and easy to drink. Only 600 bottles were filled in March 2019.
