Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2023 Le Rosé was produced with the grapes from a plot of pre-phylloxera vines at 950 meters above sea level called Carresoto in the village of Miño de San Esteban. It's a blend of 53% Albillo and 47% Tinto Fino pressed with a Champagne press and fermented and aged in new 600-liter French oak barrels for five months. It comes in at 13.63% alcohol, with a pH of 3.38 and 5.5 grams of acidity. This is aromatic and subtle but very attractive; it's vibrant and deep, with pungent flavors and very good balance. They had frost in mid-May, later than in 2024, and that had a different effect—the cycle was short and yields were lower. 1,658 bottles and 42 magnums produced. It was bottled in May 2024.

Description
Le Rosé de Antídoto is a rosé wine of the Ribera del Duero DO, created by Bertrand Sourdais, a French winemaker who has been making his mark in this wine region since 1999. This wine is made from native varieties: Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) and Albillo in equal parts, using old ungrafted vines cultivated organically. The vineyards are located on a gentle, sunny hill on the hillside overlooking the Duero river, on predominantly fine sand and limestone soils, surrounded by crops and wild flowers.
Winemaking
After a manual harvest, the grapes are directly pressed and the must ferments in new 600-litre French oak barrels. In addition, the wine is aged in these same barrels together with the lees for a period of seven months, which contributes to its complexity and depth on the palate. This winemaking method is key to giving the wine freshness and a balance between power and elegance.
Taste
On the palate, Le Rosé de Antidote is characterised by its freshness and well-balanced acidity, which gives it a dry and serious sensation. Flavours of dried flowers such as wilted roses predominate, accompanied by a touch of herbs and spices such as white pepper. The finish is chalky and clean, leaving a sense of focus and purity. Despite its alcohol content of 14.5%, it remains balanced thanks to its freshness and its ability to age in bottle, suggesting potential for development in the coming years.
