The 2013 Pinot Gris Cuvée des Comtes d'Eguisheim has a clear and aromatic bouquet of ripe and slightly stewed white fruits along with some mineral flavors. Full-bodied, round and elegant on the palate, this is a dense but fresh and finessed Pinot with a long and salty, tension-filled finish. It is very aromatic in the aftertaste and reveals a remarkable purity and elegance. Excellent and even better than 17 months ago when I tasted it for the first time. According to Yann Beyer, 2013 was a great vintage for Pinot Gris and the grapes were perfectly ripe.
