Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2021 Artífice Vidueños has fully 1% less alcohol than the 2020 that I tasted next to it, and despite being the most powerful white, the five varieties give it complexity and the reductive aging in oak foudre aims for a wine with aging potential. It has a volcanic/reductive nose with notes of struck match, pumice stone and pungent spice (clove) with a medicinal twist. It's very tasty with an almost salty finish. This is narrower, more delineated, a little more austere. One 3,000-liter foudre and one 500-liter barrel filled some 4,500 bottles.
