Description
Pedro Parra Hub comes from a single vineyard located in a rocky, high elevation area in the village of Guarilihue, Chile. The vines are 40 year old, low yielding Cinsault vines planted in soils rich in granite, silt and quartz as well as sand.
Winemaking
Fermentation, 30% of which was whole cluster, was carried out in concrete tanks using indigenous yeasts. The wine was aged exclusively in concrete to preserve the purity of both the fruit and the terroir. The name "Hub" is a tribute to the jazz trumpeter, Freddie Hubbarb, whose intensity is reflected in the strong grip and tension found in the Cinsault "Hub".
Flavour
Pedro Parra Hub is the lightest of the three wines in his collection, but also the fruitiest, featuring plenty of crisp red fruit, accompanied by spices, herbs and animal nuances. On the palate, it feels "sweet", with medium acidity and ultra-fine tannins. It is a very elegant and delicate wine, ideal to accompany grilled meats.
