Description
Masia Negre's L'Enclòs de Peralba Vi Fi is a distinctive expression of viticulture in Penedés, Spain. Started in 2017 by cousins Leo and Roc Gramona, members of the Penedès sparkling wine dynasty, this project focuses on single plot winemaking, using local varieties and practicing sustainable agriculture.
Winemaking
L'Enclòs de Peralba Vi Fi de Masia Negre is a testament to the diversity of the Penedès terroir, which ranges from Mediterranean coastal vineyards to steep slopes in the Montserrat valley. Masia Negre's Vi Fi is a blend of Garnacha Negra from Gramona's Mas Escorpí vineyard, with 20% Cariñena from a 1.5 ha plot cultivated by Isabel Vidal on a rocky calcareous clay soil.
The grapes are harvested by hand, destemmed and fermented with natural yeasts in 500-litre French oak barrels (one new) and two 300-litre barrels (one new), with pigeage twice a day. The wine is aged for 12 months in 500-litre French oak barrels, followed by 3 months in tank.

L'Enclòs de Peralba Vi Fi de Masia Negre stands out for its intense fruit expression, balanced with remarkable freshness and complexity. The altitude of the vineyards, between 250 and 300 metres, contributes to this freshness, while the ripeness and concentration of the vintage are reflected in its flavours. The combination of varieties and the meticulous vinification process result in a medium-bodied wine, with very fine tannins and a long, dry finish.
