Description
Bonnardot Maranges Sur Le Bois is a red wine made from Pinot Noir by Domaine Bonnardot Winery.
The Maranges appellation is located at the southern end of the Côte de Beaune, which has been officially recognised by a decree dating back to 1988. This appellation covers three villages, including Cheilly les Maranges.
The Pinot Noir grapes come from the "Sur le Bois" plot of 1.5 hectares. This vineyard was planted about 40 years ago and is located at 260 metres above sea level in Cheilly, in the middle of the hillside surrounded by other vines. The composition of the soils is of the calcareous clay-loam type.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand at optimum ripeness in perforated boxes before being transported to the winery. On arrival at the winery, the grapes are carefully selected on the table and then the destemmed grapes are vinified in quasi-infusion, without sulphur or additives.
The ageing is done in oak barrels for one year, without filtering or fining before bottling.
