Description
Muster Opok wine is an authentic expression of the land it comes from. Produced on Opok soils, a mixture of limestone and silty clay, this wine reflects the richness and diversity of its terroir. The vines that give life to this elixir are up to 20 years old, bringing a unique depth and complexity to the final product.
Winemaking
The varieties that make up this wine are Welschriesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Gelber Muskateller and Morillon (Chardonnay).
The grapes are harvested by hand, destemmed and gently pressed. Fermentation is carried out in 2,400 litre oval wooden vats with indigenous yeasts. After this process, the wine spends approximately 20 months ageing in neutral toasted oak vats. It is bottled without fining or filtering, and no sulphur is added, thus preserving its purest essence.
Taste
Muster Opok is an explosion of freshness and vivacity. Its personality is a blend of all the white varieties grown by the winery, presenting a delicious and precise acidity intertwined with a creamy texture and lush citrus notes. On the palate, one can perceive a subtle aroma of flowers, perhaps elderberry, accompanied by morning dew-covered grass and a hint of thyme. However, none of these flavours dominates, they all complement each other in a harmonious freshness. Drinking it is like being transported to a May sunrise, when everything is green and giving off the scent of life.
