Buy Wine from Jean Christophe Garnier
We are not exaggerating if we say that Jean-Christophe Garnier is the master of Chenin. Based in Saint Lambert du Lattay - Layon (Loire, France), he has always been involved with vines. First as a sommelier, then when he decided to create his own natural winemaking. Natural, true to his terroir and with great personality.
Jean-Christophe Garnier's vineyard
After studying winemaking in the Loire, and after a period with Marc Angeli, he decided to buy some plots of land. The Garnier of that time, with few resources and only a handful of vines, is a far cry from his present. He knew how to move in a wine region like Anjou with so many producers. He knew how to differentiate himself and stand out to create something unique. He has 60 and 40 year old Chenin vines and some Cabernet Franc, Grolleau, Gamay and Pineau d'Aunis. He grows his vines on schist, limestone and marl. There is a key fact in all this: his chenins undergo a long time of gentle pressing to extract the juice. As a result, there is a slightly oxidative note that adds to the complexity of his wines.

Its special blend of cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon, fruity and juicy, Garnier Les Tailles 2017. On the other hand, we have Garnier Pineau d'Aunis 2018, with its big and light variety of pineau d'aunis and gamay grapes. A young red wine, especially for an aperitif. Finally, we can find another young red wine, Garnier Grolleau Gamay Aunís 2019, a blend of gamay, grolleau and pineau d'aunis. This wine is aged for eight months in fibre vats. All their bottlings are unfiltered and without added sulphites. They are wines that transmit a deep-rooted feeling for expressing their content. And of course, their soul.
