Buy Wine from A. Lamblot
In the heart of the Champagne region of France lies the Alexandre Lamblot winery, a living testimony to winemaking tradition and innovation. Nestled between the picturesque villages of Vrigny, Chenay, Janvry and Gueux, this winery is the fruit of generations of passion for wine. Alexandre Lamblot, the current owner and winemaker, represents the 13th generation of vignerons in his family, a line that dates back to the 17th century.
This rich history is woven into every bottle he produces, and the Lamblot family has been a constant in the region's viticulture for centuries. Although they still produce Champagne under their original label, it was in the 2010s that Alexandre decided to embark on a path of his own. After gaining experience and expertise working with Jérôme Prévost at La Closerie, Alexandre launched his first wines in 2019 under the Champagne A. Lamblot label, marking the beginning of a new era for the family.Vineyards
Terroir is essential in the production of quality wines, and Alexandre knows this well. His 3.5 ha of vineyards, spread over the above-mentioned locations, are a blend of heritage and vision. Some of these vineyards have been passed down from generation to generation, while others are the result of Alexandre's personal leases and agreements.
These vineyards are densely planted, with an average of 9,800 plants per hectare. This density is a deliberate choice, seeking to maximise the expression of the masal selection. The varietal composition is a blend of 60% Meunier, 25% Pinot Noir and 15% Chardonnay, reflecting the rich biodiversity of the region.
But what really sets these vineyards apart is Alexandre's approach to biodynamics and agroforestry. By planting around 100 different species of trees on each hectare, he not only seeks to increase biodiversity, but also to combat monoculture, which he considers a vestige of a productivist era he wishes to leave behind.
Philosophy
Alexandre Lamblot's philosophy focuses on authenticity and the pure expression of terroir. In the cellar, every step of the winemaking process is meticulously carried out. From fermentation with indigenous yeasts in barrels of different sizes to bottling without interventions such as fining or filtration, everything is done with the purest expression of the wine in mind.
Moreover, Alexandre is constantly experimenting to improve and refine his techniques. One of these experiments is fermentation and ageing in clay amphorae. These amphorae, which have been used for millennia in other wine regions, offer a unique perspective on winemaking, allowing a different interaction between the wine and its container.
Sustainability is another pillar of their philosophy. From choosing natural and recycled materials for packaging to minimising the use of SO2, Alexandre seeks to reduce the environmental impact of its production. This sustainable vision extends beyond the winery, with the choice of local corks, recycled paper labels and recyclable cardboard.
Sparkling wines reflecting passion, tradition and innovation
Less than a decade since its founding, it is already making an indelible mark on the Champagne scene. Through his environmentally friendly approach and his constant quest for authenticity, Alexandre Lamblot is leading his family and the Champagne region into an exciting and sustainable future.
