Buy Wine from Bodegas Barbadillo
Bodegas Barbadillo was founded in the town of Sanlúcar de Barrameda in 1821, starting out in the market as a producer of a type of manzanilla. However, thanks to the effort and hard work of those who managed this winery at that time, they managed to become what it is today: a large business group.
Each wine of this winery carries in its taste the tradition of the place, and this is one of the philosophies with which it was created, without leaving aside the evolution of each version of this drink, which in addition to surprise, leaves a mark on those who enjoy it.
The Barbadillo winery, along with 16 other wineries, form part of the vineyards of this business group, responsible for producing a huge variety of wines classified among manzanillas, reds, whites, sherries and brandies, with their own elements that make them unique and elegant.
Currently, Barbadillo operates as a producer of international stature, with a presence in countries such as the United Kingdom, Holland, Germany, Belgium, Denmark and the USA.
Let's talk about its history
Bodega Barbadillo is located near the Guadalquivir, in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, where Benigno Barbadillo and Manuel López began their wine production project with the bottling of their first manzanilla.
From that moment on, it has not stopped growing and documenting itself until it managed not only to diversify its production of this beverage, but also to conquer the best international markets.
As part of its growth, Bodega Barbadillo has been interested in integrating other wineries to further enhance its production, managing to include Viñedos Vega Real in the Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin and Bodega Pirineos.
Barbadillo embodies in each version of its wines the philosophy that has led this group to success: the interest in innovation and professionalism, managing to produce everything from sparkling wines with unique characteristics to Palo Cortado wines.
Techniques used
The Bodega Barbadillo winery is characterised by the use of ecological techniques in the production of its wines, as well as innovative practices that have led it to grow as a business group.
The soil of its vineyards is sandy, which determines the unique flavour of the fruit from which these wines are made. The grapes are also harvested by hand, especially for the natural wines, which require optimum preservation of the fruit.
In general, the wines that come from this winery are aged in bottles for a long period of time using biological techniques, which not only guarantees the peculiar texture and flavour that characterises them, but also the smoothness and freshness of the natural wines.
Vineyards
These vineyards cover an area of more than 500 hectares where different types of grapes are grown, making the most of each fruit.
From these lands have come many of the world renowned wine brands, such as Solear, which has been maintained since its launch in 1821.
These are lands that have always belonged to the Barbadillo family, but today they are not only dedicated to producing a unique type of wine, but have grown not only in their facilities, but also in the integration of different denominations such as Jerez-Xérès-Sherry, Brandy de Jerez, Vinos de la Tierra de Cádiz and Vinagre de Jerez.
Wines with international projection
The wines of the Barbadillo winery have managed to break the barriers of the Spanish market, as their quality and particularity in the flavour of each version is such that they are known as wines of international stature and renown.
