Description
Peternell Fränkie Blue Eyes is a pure and ambitious expression of the Blaufränkisch variety. Produced in a unique 40-year-old vineyard on clay near the Neuseidl am See lake, this wine is the result of the passion and dedication of three individuals: Paul, Simon and David. These three visionaries decided to found Kollektiv Peternell in Austria's Burgenland region in 2018. With previous experiences working with renowned winemakers such as Matassa, 2Naturkinder, Achillé and Partida Creus, they decided to continue their adventure in Austria. There, they took possession of an old underground and vaulted cellar in Petronell-Carnuntum, which would later give the collective its name.
Winemaking
Vinification is carried out by maceration and fermentation with indigenous yeasts in open stainless steel tanks for 9 days, with gentle treading so as not to extract too much. Subsequently, it is aged in 500-litre oak barrels until the end of September. With an alcohol content of 11%, this wine is a true masterpiece, balanced and subtle, where tannins and alcohol are hidden to give way to a pure and clean taste that many wish they could chew.

Peternell Fränkie Blue Eyes has notes of tart fruit and a floral touch that transports the taster. It is a beautiful and successful red wine with a light entry. Its taste is so captivating that it is common for a bottle to be finished in just a few minutes.
