Cold skin soaking with whole bunches grapes for 4 days. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged for 11 months in old 225-litre oak barrels.

Description

Peternell Broatl Racing Grün is an oenological gem produced by Kollektiv Peternell. This wine comes from a unique 45 year old Grüner Veltliner vineyard located in Kamptal, which stands out for growing in a chalky terroir that gives it special characteristics.

Winemaking

Peternell Broatl Racing Grün is characterised by its meticulous winemaking. In the cellar, the team introduces different vinification methods, using amphorae, demijohns and old barrels to experiment and obtain the best flavour. Vinification is carried out with whole clusters and 4 days of maceration, always fermenting with indigenous yeasts in old barrels. The ageing is carried out in 225 litre wooden barrels until the end of September. The result is a wine with an alcohol content of 12.5%, a sulphur content of less than 7 mg/l and a residual sugar content of less than 1 g/l.
The taste of this wine is a true representation of the Grüner Veltliner, a variety that promises to leave even the most experienced wine connoisseur speechless. The label, illustrated with a hairy rhinoceros, a rare prehistoric specimen of the region, reflects the uniqueness and distinctive character of this amazing white wine.
