Description
Dario Prinčič Pinot Grigio is an orange wine made from the Pinot Grigio grape variety, which is known for its versatility and ability to reflect the terroir in which it is grown. The vineyard where these grapes come from covers a total of 10 hectares, with a soil composed mainly of marl and sandstone. The vines have an average age of 35 years, which indicates a maturity that translates into high quality grapes. The agriculture practised in these vineyards is organic, which guarantees respect for the environment and sustainable production.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand. In the winery, the must undergoes spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in open vats and maceration of the skins for 8 days. Ageing is carried out in large barrels for 24 months. Unlike many other wines, this wine is not filtered, clarified or sulphurous added.
Taste
On the nose, it displays a complex amalgam of aromas: from the sweetness of fig and dried tropical fruits to more earthy and vegetal notes such as cabbage and vegetable stew. On the palate, the palate delights with flavours of dried apricots, citrus and a hint of caramel. Despite its richness of flavours, the wine maintains medium acidity and light tannins, giving it a perfect balance between sweetness and structure.
