Antoine Jobard
Meursault 1er Cru
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The king of the cellar this year is the 2018 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières, a deep and layered wine that unwinds in the glass with notes of citrus oil, fresh Anjou pear, peach and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and multidimensional, it's bright, lively and concentrated, with a textural, enveloping profile of considerable charm.

Description
Antoine Jobard Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières is an exceptional white wine that stands out for its complexity and depth. This wine is made from 100% Chardonnay, sourced from vines planted between 1970 and 2017 in a 0.54 hectare vineyard located in Meursault, Burgundy. The soil of this vineyard is composed of a mixture of clay and limestone, which contributes to the richness and minerality of the wine.
Winemaking
The winemaking of Antoine Jobard Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières begins with a gentle pneumatic pressing of the grapes, followed by primary and malolactic fermentations in oak barrels, only 20% of which are new. There is no batonnage (lees stirring), and the wine ages for 20 to 23 months in 4 to 5 year old oak barrels.
Taste
Antoine Jobard Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières has a vibrant aromatic profile, with notes of Nashi pear, buttery pastry, white flowers, oats and fresh stone fruits. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with a satiny, enveloping texture. Lively acids add freshness and balance, while the wine's depth and tension give it remarkable complexity. The finish is long and penetrating, leaving a lasting, elegant impression. This wine is an outstanding example of Meursault terroir, combining the richness and structure typical of the region with exceptional precision and clarity.
