Features

Description

Andreas Tscheppe Segelfalter is a white wine that comes from Austria, specifically from the region of Südsteiermark, Leutschach. This wine stands out for being made with the Gelber Muskateller variety in its entirety. The vines that give rise to this wine are between 7 and 14 years old, and are planted on terraces with a geographical orientation towards the southeast and south. These vines grow at an altitude that varies between 440 and 580 metres above sea level.

Elaboration

The production of this wine begins with a manual harvest at the beginning of October. Once harvested, the grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation. It is important to note that malolactic fermentation takes place. Subsequently, the wine matures in large, old oak foudres for a period of 18 months. This wine is bottled unfiltered and sealed with natural cork.

Taste

Andreas Tscheppe Segelfalter has a slightly cloudy straw colour. Its aroma is charming, with notes of jasmine, camomile and grapefruit. On the palate, it is light-bodied and dry, but what really stands out is its freshness and exceptionally pure, lively acidity. On the palate, floral notes give way to fruit flavours, with passion fruit being particularly prominent. The finish is long, with lumpy minerals and a freshness that invites another sip.
