Buy Sweet Red wine
Sweet red wineincludes those natural sweet wines and generous-liquorous wines from red varieties where the must has a high sugar richness, above 250 g/l. In this way, the must ferments partially, obtaining at least a real alcohol content of 8º. Finally, fermentation is stopped with the addition (fortified) of wine alcohol until an alcohol content of between 14.5 and 22º is achieved.
Spain and Portugal are excellent producers of sweet red wine: in Andalusia the sweet Pedro Ximénez and Cream. The latter is obtained by blending a dry oloroso and a sweet Pedro Ximénez; in Empordà the sweet wines of Garnacha; in Priorat sweet and sweet rancid wines made from Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah; and in Portugal the mythical Port wines made from Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa and Tinta Roriz among others.
