Description

In the heart of the Côte de Beaune, Vincent Girardin Bourgogne Pinot Noir Cuvée Saint-Vincent forged his name with a clear philosophy: to intervene as little as possible to let the vineyard speak. Born into a family of winegrowers in Santenay, he decided to become independent at the age of 19, guided by a precocious intuition and a deep respect for the land. His Bourgogne Pinot Noir Cuvée Saint-Vincent, named after the patron saint of winegrowers, comes from 35-year-old vines planted in the region's typical clay-limestone soils, which give this wine its tense, precise and deeply Burgundian profile.

The grapes, carefully cultivated by Guyot pruning and meticulous green work, are harvested by hand and go through a double selection process - first in the vineyard and then in the cellar. Depending on the year, a small proportion of whole bunches are added to enhance structure and freshness.

Winemaking

After a cold pre-fermentation maceration, fermentation of Vincent Girardin Bourgogne Pinot Noir Cuvée Saint-Vincent takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The must is gently pumped over and pumped down according to the needs of the must. After pressing, the wine is aged for 15 months in 30% new French oak barrels, where it undergoes malolactic fermentation. It is not clarified and is lightly filtered before bottling, which follows the lunar calendar.

Taste

Elegant and restrained, this Vincent Girardin Bourgogne Pinot Noir Cuvée Saint-Vincent displays aromas of raspberry, black cherry and redcurrant, with subtle echoes of damp earth and sweet spices. The palate is fluid and precise, with silky tannins and a lively acidity that lengthens the drink. The red fruit dominates but is interwoven with notes of black tea and a chalky mineral background that recalls its origin. A classic Burgundy red, discreet and firm, which seduces with its authenticity.
