Description

Vincent Wallard, the restless soul behind Cuatro Manos, has made natural wine a manifesto of freedom. Trained between France, Argentina and Spain, his philosophy stems from a simple conviction: to let the grape speak without filters, without masks. This is how Le P'tit Nouveau came about, as a rebellious nod to Beaujolais Nouveau, but with the Atlantic soul of the Loire. It is a young, frank, unpretentious red wine made from Gamay and Grolleau, varieties that thrive in the light, cool soils of western France. Hand-harvesting and minimal cellar intervention reflect an absolute respect for the raw material. Wallard made a bold decision: not to add sulphites or filter the wine, relying fully on the vital energy of the fruit. The result is a pure, uninhibited and deeply alive red wine.

Winemaking

The grapes for Le P'tit Nouveau enter the vats whole for spontaneous carbonic maceration, a technique that brings out the fruit and softens the tannin. Without fining or filtering, and with no added sulphites, the wine is bottled directly, preserving all its raw, fruity expression. Each step of the process honours the natural rhythm of the wine, without artifice or correction, respecting the logic of the terroir.

Taste

On the nose, Le P'tit Nouveau bursts with notes of fresh raspberry, grenadine and a hint of blue flower. At first sip, it is surprisingly light and lively: crisp red fruit, lively acidity, a trace of mineral and a slightly spicy background. The palate is clean, agile, with a juicy sensation reminiscent of biting into a ripe cherry. The finish is dry, fresh and slightly saline, leaving an echo of damp earth and fruit skin. A wine without make-up, direct and vibrant, which begs to be drunk with joy. Ideal for serving slightly chilled and sharing unceremoniously.
