Description
P'tit Tonton Blanc was born from the nomadic and radical project of Vicent Wallard, a key figure in the Franco-Hispanic natural wine scene. After years of winemaking in Canada, Argentina and Spain, he found in the Loire Valley a meeting point between living soil and free thought. "P'tit Tonton" - the little uncle - is a tribute to both family and irreverence, born between conversations in the sun, old barrels and decisions made with the heart, not the manual.
P'tit Tonton Blanc is a pure Chenin Blanc wine from vineyards on clay, limestone and flint soils. This terroir imprints a characteristic mineral tension, marked by the Atlantic wind and chemical-free agriculture. No systematic intervention, just deep respect for the natural rhythm of the vineyard.
Winemaking
The grapes for P'tit Tonton Blanc are harvested by hand and sorted in the field. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts is carried out in stainless steel and neutral barrels. There is no temperature control, clarification or filtering. Ageing is carried out for about 6 months on fine lees, without movement. P'tit Tonton Blanc is bottled without added sulphites, just as it is born.
Taste
On the nose, P'tit Tonton Blanc is austere but expressive: wet stone, closed white flower, sour apple and lemon zest. Nothing exuberant, all precision and restraint. The palate is direct, vibrant, with a natural acidity that is unforgiving but caressing. There is tension, chalk, and a persistent salinity.
A dry, electric white, with a rebellious soul and an honest body. P'tit Tonton Blanc does not seek to please, it seeks to say something. And it says it clearly.
