Werlitsch Ex Vero I, produced at the Weingut Werlitsch winery, located on the border between southern Steiermark and Slovenia, is the result of the passion and dedication of Brigitte and Ewald Tscheppe. The winery stands out for its commitment to biodynamic viticulture, focusing on the sustainable production of high quality wines.
Winemaking
Werlitsch Ex Vero I is a blend of 90% Chardonnay and 10% Sauvignon Blanc. These varieties grow in clay-limestone and alluvial soils, reflecting the diversity and richness of the terrain in which the vineyards are located. The grapes are harvested by hand, guaranteeing the selection of the best bunches. The wine is then destemmed and fermented with indigenous yeasts in open wooden vats. Subsequently, the wine matures for 24 months in 3,000 litre oak vats and an additional year in the bottle, which gives it an unequalled complexity and structure.

Werlitsch Ex Vero I is a sensory experience that defies traditional wine expectations. It is an extremely wild natural wine. Its aromas are reminiscent of fresh herbs, white flowers, lemon and elderflower, creating an olfactory symphony that invites tasting.
On the palate, an explosion of flavours unfolds: white grapefruit, lemon and thyme give way to hints of lime leaf, lychee and lemonade. It is like tasting a rainbow of sensations and nuances, a true celebration of nature in every sip.
