Description
Philippe Brand, winemaker at Domaine Brand & Fils in Ergersheim, Alsace, has created this exceptional wine under biodynamic farming methods. Philippe Brand L'Oiseau et le Bouquet Macération is made from 100% Muscat grapes from a vineyard located in the area known as Les Coteaux du Kefferberg, characterised by clay-limestone soils. The vines have an average age of 50 years, which contributes to the depth and complexity of the wine.
Winemaking
Philippe Brand L'Oiseau et le Bouquet Macération undergoes a 12-day maceration process, in contact with the grape skins, which gives the wine its characteristic orange colour. Fermentations are carried out with indigenous yeasts and without the addition of oenological products, respecting the philosophy of natural wines. The wine is aged for 8 months in oak barrels, without filtration or clarification, which preserves its purity and natural character.
Taste
Philippe Brand L'Oiseau et le Bouquet Macération is a highly aromatic and concentrated wine. Its profile starts with the typical floral aromas of Muscat, but adds an unexpected twist with a slightly funky note reminiscent of mineral hints. On the palate, exotic flavours such as lychee mixed with grapefruit are prominent, providing a balance between sweetness and citrus. There is also a subtle saline note, similar to the sensation of drinking sparkling water, which refreshes the palate and adds complexity to the finish.
