Description
Los Corrillos Rock Abo is a unique wine made by Roberto Oliván under the Tentenublo Wines project, which seeks to innovate in the Rioja region while maintaining a connection with traditional roots. This wine combines 60% Viura and 40% Tempranillo, an unusual blend to create a red wine, as Viura is a white variety. The grapes come from a small plot in Lanciego, an area characterised by its Atlantic-influenced climate and soils of limestone and sandstone marl, which give the wine complexity and freshness. The viticulture is based on artisanal techniques that respect the environment, with vineyards ranging in age from 40 to 100 years old. The grapes are harvested by hand, ensuring optimum grape selection.
Winemaking
The elaboration of Los Corrillos Rock Abo follows a meticulous process: spontaneous fermentation with the skins in open vats and an ageing of 5 months in used chestnut barrels, which provides unique nuances. The combination of these techniques results in a wine with a taut texture and vibrant character.
Taste
Los Corrillos Rock Abo stands out for its freshness and complexity. On the nose, aromas of lively fruit predominate, accompanied by floral notes and a hint of wax. On the palate, the wine is round, with fine tannins and remarkable balance. The acidity, characteristic for its tension, provides a long and refreshing finish, inviting to continue tasting. Ideal for pairing with white meats, lamb and river fish.
