Description
In the heart of Eguisheim, Alsace, winemaker Jean-François Ginglinger - heir to a family tradition dating back to the 17th century - makes wines with soul, without make-up, guided by biodynamics and a philosophy of minimal intervention. Ginglinger Pinot Blanc Glou-Glou is born as a playful but serious statement: a wine to be drunk with pleasure, without pretension, but with all the tension and purity that terroir can offer. The name is no accident - Jean added it after tasting the vintage and noting its irresistible drinkability. This Pinot Blanc comes from the chalky, sandy soils typical of Alsace, where the variety expresses itself with frank minerality and refreshing acidity, far from fruity excesses.
Winemaking
Ginglinger Pinot Blanc Glou-Glou is harvested by hand, with rigorous selection in the vineyard, reflecting Ginglinger's commitment to artisanal and respectful viticulture. In the winery, the grapes are gently pressed and the must ferments with indigenous yeasts, without additives or artificial control. No sulphites are added, or only in minimal doses. Ageing takes place in stainless steel tanks, without any wood or aggressive filtering, which allows the wine to retain its lively energy and direct profile. The bottling, simple and honest, respects the purest expression of Pinot Blanc in its freshest and most glou-glou version.
Taste
Ginglinger Pinot Blanc Glou-Glou offers a delicate nose: fresh citrus -lime, lime, lime- with hints of white pear and a minerality reminiscent of wet limestone. The palate is dry, linear, with crisp acidity and sharp texture. There is no exuberance, but a restrained elegance that seduces with its tension. A slight bitterness on the finish, like citrus peel, prolongs its persistence. Its character is pure, vibrant, almost athletic, ideal for those looking for wines with nerve, honesty and irresistible drinkability. Perfect with seafood, vegetable cuisine or simply for the pleasure of drinking something authentic and lively.
