Form Lorch, the 2022 Pfaffenwies offers a clear, refined and intense bouquet with clear, bright fruit aromas intertwined with delicate flinty notes of weathered slate. Full-bodied and mouthfilling on the palate, this is a pure, elegant, well-balanced but also tensioned and savory-finishing Riesling from the Pfaffenwies. 11.5% stated alcohol. Diam cork. Tasted at the domaine in September 2023.

Description
Pfaffenwies comes from the upper and lower plots of the cru. This terroir benefits from the warm humidity of the Rhine, the slate and quartzite soils of the Hunsrück and Taunus, and the deep loess on the lower slopes. This unique combination results in a wine with a distinctive and memorable character.
Its bouquet is fascinating, with a slatey purity and a lemony aromatic intensity with a slight hint of oak. Despite being vinified in oak, this wine stands out for its freshness, minerality and power, offering a flavour full of salinity and grip, and tremendous length and complexity.
Taste
Georg Breuer Pfaffenwies is renowned for its elegance and finesse. It delights us with warm tones of almond and camomile on the nose. On the palate, it is fruity yellow and slightly floral. Despite its lightness, it has great tension, with gentle acidity and a robust finish.
