Description
Billecart-Salmon Demi Sec champagne is an exceptional sparkling wine that represents the excellence and tradition of the Billecart-Salmon house, founded in 1818. This wine is the result of a harmonious blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir varieties. The exact proportion of each variety is a closely guarded secret of the winery, but together they offer a unique and distinctive flavour profile.
Winemaking
After the harvest, the grapes are carefully selected to ensure only the best quality. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, which allows the fruity aromas and characteristic freshness of the grapes to be preserved. Subsequently, the wine is aged on its lees in the bottle for 89 months in the underground cellars, for the second fermentation and the foaming process. Finally, after disgorging, the wine is released to the market with 40 grams of sugar per litre.
Taste
Billecart-Salmon Demi Sec is characterised by its smooth and delicate flavour, with notes of white fruits and citrus fruits intertwined with hints of brioche and honey. Its moderate sweetness is balanced by a refreshing acidity, making it a versatile and elegant champagne. On the palate, it offers a creamy texture and fine, persistent bubbles, which enhance the flavours and provide a pleasant, long-lasting sensory experience.
