Description
Al Muvedre is a single varietal red wine made exclusively from the Monastrell variety, which stands out for its southern and luminous expression, capturing the spirit of the Mediterranean. This wine is produced in the Alicante region, specifically in the villages of Monovar and Villena, in places such as Collado de Salinas, Madara, Falcones, Solaneta and Tumanes. The viticulture used is traditional agriculture, with goblet pruning and manual harvesting, guaranteeing meticulous care of the vines.
Winemaking
Al Muvedre is made with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel and cement tanks, followed by a maturation period of 6 to 8 months. The soils of the region are predominantly calcareous with a sandy or sandy loam structure, sometimes with boulders on the surface, which contributes to the limited yields and production of the vines.
Taste
The Al Muvedre wine has a ruby colour with purple tones, a high alcohol level, evidenced by its dense tears. On the nose, black fruits such as blueberries, notes of vanilla and oak, as well as molasses, accompanied by floral and mineral hints. On the palate, it is a powerful wine with medium to high acidity and very marked tannins, offering a medium-high length and a liqueur-like aftertaste. This is a powerful wine, still young, that will reach a good balance with a few years of ageing.
