The 2022 Graciano-Garnacha Grano a Grano was produced with 60% Garnacha and 40% Graciano, looking for the gentle side of the Garnacha and the acidity and freshness from the Graciano. The grapes were hand-destemmed and fermented in 1,200-liter stainless steel tanks, and the wine matured in 500-liter oak barrels for 18 months. It has 14.5% alcohol, a pH of 3.50 and 5.14 grams of acidity, reflecting a warmer and drier year that delivered a little more ripeness. It has some notes of spices and smoke, a medium- to full-bodied palate with abundant, slightly dusty tannins and a bitter twist in the finish. This is the one that feels like it needs a little more time in bottle. 1,675 bottles produced.

Description
Abel Mendoza Graciano-Garnacha Grano a Grano is a single varietal wine made with grapes from single Graciano vines intermixed in separate vineyards with other varietals accounting for about 40% of the volume and Garnacha from vines over 40 years old.
Winemaking
The grapes are picked and selected by hand in the vineyard. Once in the winery, the bunches are destemmed berry by berry and fermented at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks. After fermentation, the wine is matured for 18 months in new French oak barrels.
Taste
The palate is dry, structured, fresh and mellow. On the nose, there is a lot of aromatic strength.
