Description
Vin Dzi is a pure and vibrant expression of the Jura region of France. This wine is made from a blend of equal parts Chardonnay and Savagnin, sourced from three parcels in Arbois, Molamboz and Montigny-lès-Arsures.
Winemaking
Vin Dzi 's winemaking is unique, with half of the grapes pressed directly, while the rest is destemmed and added to the tank to infuse for three weeks before being pressed and transferred to cuve for a year's rest. This meticulous winemaking and ageing process results in a wine with finesse, nuance and a distinctive minerality, accompanied by notes of citrus and wet stones.
Taste
The taste of Vin Dzi is equally exceptional, presenting remarkable openness and expressiveness reflecting the vintage. The combination of ripe fruit, citrus, stones and a hint of spice comes through beautifully, creating a complex and enveloping taste experience. The richness of its orange colour, along with unusual aromas that blend honeysuckle with butter, bread dough and hay, sets the stage for a flavour that remains rich in citrus and honey, with a hint of effervescence on the tongue. This flavour profile, along with its focus on purity and terroir expression, establishes Vin Dzi as one of the most original and exciting wines from Jura.
Amélie Vuillet and Sébastien Jacques, the producers behind this wine, are renowned for their respect for nature, working their vineyards with the utmost care and minimising treatments. The use of indigenous yeasts, the absence of filtering and fining, and the non-addition of additional sulphites, are practices that underline their commitment to creating wines that are a true expression of the place they come from. Vin Dzi is not just a wine; it is a testament to passion, tradition and innovation in winemaking.
