Description

Strohmeier TLZ Shine plays on the word"Sonne", it is one of the signature creations of Franz, who has been making wines since 2008. TLZ Shine, like the Sonne, is 100% Sauvignon blanc. While the Sonne shows a more expressive side of the grape, TLZ Shine presents itself as a more elegant and direct wine, in Franz's own words.
This wine comes from Sauvignon Blanc grapes grown in the vineyards of Bad Gams, Stainz, characterised by its gneiss with an important content of iron and silica.

Winemaking

The grapes are harvested by hand, selecting only those that are perfectly ripe and healthy. Once harvested, the grapes are destemmed, crushed and pneumatically pressed. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation is spontaneous, and the wine is bottled after 12 months in used 500-litre oak barrels. Strohmeier TLZ Shine does not undergo fining or filtering and no sulphur is added.

Taste

Strohmeier TLZ Shine is a wine that truly lives up to its name. Its freshness, brightness and vivacity make it a shining star in the wine firmament. The nose is super elegant, with notes of orange, funky dried herbs, chamomile and other flowers. On the palate, it is juicy and direct, with a touch of tannin that gives it structure and a surprising persistence.
