The 2021 Colección Privada was produced with Tempranillo from two vineyards (from 1957 and 1959) and saw two different vinifications, which they describe as the union between tradition and modernity—one with full clusters and the other destemmed. It matured in new 225-liter barrels, half of them French and the other half American. It's very balanced and harmonious, a little shy and undeveloped, young, very fresh, structured and with elegance and power. It's ripe at 14.4% alcohol, with a pH of 3.7 and 5.2 grams of acidity. The oak is neatly integrated, and the fruit has ripeness but without excess; it ripened thoroughly and developed a nice array of aromas and flavors. This represents a return to a more normal year in terms of weather and dates. 30,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2023.

Description
This edition of Sierra Cantabria wine is made entirely from Tempranillo grapes harvested in San Vicente de la Sonsierra. It is one of the Eguren family's best developed products and contains a wide variety of nuances that make its flavour a unique experience.
The vineyard is located in the lands of La Rioja, where the clay-limestone soils guarantee superior organoleptic properties. In addition, the Mediterranean climate of the region is of great help for the development of Vitis vinifera, as the fruit is not exposed to excessive heat or cold.
Winemaking
The process comprises two parts, the first one, which includes traditional destemming and a period of carbonic maceration. In addition, the must is aged in brand new French and American oak barrels to complete the ageing process with a maturation period of over 16 months.
Taste
Its aroma includes a varied olfactory bouquet that combines fruits of the forest, with floral nuances reminiscent of violets and lilacs. In terms of flavour, mineral and earthy accents predominate, adding body and structure . The finish is long, deep and with very marked tannins.
