Description
This natural wine, In A Gadda Da Vida, is crafted by Diego Losada under his La Senda project in the Bierzo region of Spain. The wine is composed mainly of the Godello variety, with a touch of Doña Blanca and Malvasía. The vineyards, between 60 and 90 years old, are located at 500-550 metres in the village of Hervededo, in the eastern part of Bierzo. They are characterised by mineral-rich soils, which give freshness and structure to the wine. The vineyards are surrounded by wild nature, which enhances the expressive and authentic character of this region.
Winemaking
In A Gadda Da Vida is an orange wine with a 90-day maceration with its skins, which contributes to its aromatic complexity and texture. Fermentation is carried out in open French and chestnut oak barrels, using indigenous yeasts. The wine is then aged for 8 months in neutral oak barrels, without fining, filtering or sulphite addition.
Taste
In A Gadda Da Vida is a surprisingly aromatic and balanced wine, despite its long maceration. Flavours of stone fruit and savoury herbs are present, along with floral notes that give it an unexpected freshness. Despite its complexity, it is a surprisingly easy-drinking wine, with a juicy texture that makes it ideal for those looking for a natural wine full of character, but without losing the smoothness on the palate.
