Description
La Estrada is an exclusive crianza red wine made by the Compañía de Telmo Rodríguez, using mostly Tempranillo grapes and some Graciano.
These varieties come from a small vineyard of only 0.64 hectares located at an altitude of 610 metres above sea level. Undoubtedly, it is a small treasure found by Telmo Rodríguez.
The Tempranillo and Graciano vines were planted since the 1940's. This vineyard is surrounded by forests, and it is located on a hillside of pure chalky clay, in the highest and westernmost part of the village of Lanciego in La Rioja.
This magnificent wine is the perfect accompaniment to red meats, braised turkey, grilled seafood, rice dishes, grilled lamb and roast pork.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand and unique grapes are obtained, with a careful selection of clusters in the vineyard itself. In the winery, the must is fermented in open oak vats of 3,000 litres with autochthonous yeasts and its subsequent maturation lasts from 14 to 16 months in foudres and oak barrels, following the strictest tradition of the area.
Taste
La Estrada is a crianza red wine produced from organically grown grapes, where aromatic and fruity flavours stand out. It has a medium body and great structure, fine tannins and balance and a silky texture.

It is an authentic and unbeatable red wine with great finesse and aromas. It is a very complex and expressive wine. The Tempranillo and Graciano grapes were planted in a small vineyard which gives this magnificent red wine purity, depth and balance.
